Becoming an Author
From Healthcare to Publishing
I began thinking seriously about writing and publishing because important medical information is often available, but not always explained clearly enough for the people who need it.
Through my work in occupational therapy, epilepsy education and clinical research, I came close to patients, families and the many questions that appear when symptoms are complex or difficult to name. I became especially interested in the point where medical knowledge exists, but the language still feels too distant from the person trying to understand it.
I write for women, mothers and families who want clearer explanations of the brain, menopause and neurological symptoms without having to read like medical professionals. Some readers are trying to understand perimenopause, menopause or new neurological symptoms. Others are parents looking for simple ways to introduce the brain and nervous system to children. Across my work, I focus on making difficult science easier to recognize, easier to understand and easier to discuss.
